DOHA BANK SIGNED E-REMITTANCE AND BANKING ARRANGEMENT WITH COOPERATIVE & AGRICULTURAL CREDIT BANK (CAC BANK), YEMEN

Doha Bank signed an agreement with Cooperative & Agricultural Credit Bank (CAC Bank) which is the one of leading bank in Yemen for the online Electronic Funds Transfer from Qatar to Yemen. Both the banks also agreed to generate local business for each other targeting mainly the non-resident Yemenis staying in the State of Qatar.

The agreement was signed, on 17th June 2008 in a function held in Doha Bank Head Office in Doha, by Mr. Kevin Cain, Head of Wholesale Banking of Doha Bank and Mr. Nasser M Almaraqab, Advisor, CAC Bank and Mr Mohamed Mustafa Mukhtar, Head of International and Financial Institution of CAC Bank.

Mr. Kevin, Head of Wholesale Banking, expressed his happiness over the tie-up and said that Doha Bank is committed to serve the Non Residents and this tie up will benefit the Yemeni community in Qatar, UAE and Doha Bank’s upcoming branch in Kuwait.

Mr. Nasser M Almaraqab and Mr Mohamed Mustafa Mukhtar, Head – International Banking of CAC Bank briefed about the overview of the bank and expressed happiness to have this tie-up with Doha Bank which is one of the fastest growing and customer centric banks in the region.  He was certain that this arrangement with Doha Bank will benefit the Yemeni expatriates in Qatar in meeting their home country banking needs and quick remittance of money from Qatar at in a convenient way.  He assured that this small initiative would grow to other areas between both the banks with an ultimate aim of serving the Yemeni expatriates.

Mr R Ganesan, Executive Manager – International & Institutional Banking was present at  the signing ceremony. Mr Ganesan mentioned that this tie up will enable the Yemeni expatriates to remit money from Qatar to Yemen, facilitate account opening with CAC Bank in Yemen. He said that these services will be offered at International Relations Centre at Grand Hamad Avenue. He also mentioned that Doha Bank has similar arrangements for Lebanese, Filipino, Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan customers.
